Measurement

Room 2 was learning to use a ruler to measure to the closest centimetre. We had to remember to start measuring from zero on the ruler. Because it was Autumn, we measured leaves. To measure the perimetre of a leaf we had to use a piece of string to follow the edge of the leaf and then measure the string using a ruler.

The Theme for this term is: COMMUNICATION: "Let's talk about it"

The First 2 Weeks 2019

Well, we've had a busy two weeks with getting to know each other and learning the classroom routines. We shared ideas on expectations in and outside of the classroom.

It was a very hot 2 weeks...

The class enjoyed swimming where some students are perfecting their swimming style in breast stroke, some are working on their freestyle arms with breathing to the side, and some are learning to kick across the pool whilst breathing without stopping to stand up.

The soccer coaches from Manukau Sports came in to run soccer taster sessions. We played a ball control game and then 15 minutes of 5-a-side soccer. Not only did we learn some soccer skills but also about good sportsmanship.
